This Halloween Pasta Salad is a spooky, colorful twist on classic pasta salad—featuring dyed monster noodles, creepy veggie mix-ins, and mozzarella “eyeballs.” Perfect for Halloween parties, potlucks, and pasta bars!

Ingredients

  • 16 oz (1 lb) rotini pasta (or any short pasta)
  • Black and purple food coloring (gel preferred)
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 cup black olives, sliced
  • 1 cup mini mozzarella balls
  • ½ cup diced bell peppers (orange, green, or red)
  • ½ cup sliced cucumber or zucchini
  • Italian dressing (store-bought or homemade)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional spooky toppings: candy eyeballs (for decor), Halloween toothpicks, shaped cheese slices (bats, pumpkins)

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta: Boil according to package instructions. Drain and rinse with cold water.
  2. Dye pasta: Divide pasta into two bowls. Add purple food coloring to one, black to the other. Mix and let sit 5–10 minutes.
  3. Rinse & combine: Rinse pasta to remove excess dye. Combine in large bowl.
  4. Add mix-ins: Toss in cherry tomatoes, olives, bell peppers, cucumber, and mozzarella balls.
  5. Dress: Pour Italian dressing over salad. Season with salt and pepper. Toss to combine.
  6. Chill: Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  7. Garnish & serve: Add spooky toppings like candy eyeballs or shaped cheese before serving.
