Ingredients
1 pound pasta (shells, bowtie, or rotini)
2 large yellow onions, thinly sliced
2 tablespoons butter
1 packet dry French onion soup mix
1½ cups sour cream
Salt and pepper, to taste
Chives or green onions, for garnish (optional)
Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions

Cook pasta in salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.

In a large skillet, melt butter over medium-low heat. Add onions and caramelize for 20–25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden and soft.

In a large bowl, mix sour cream and dry French onion soup mix until combined.
