These Easter Egg Rice Krispie Treats are a fun, colorful, and easy no-bake Easter snack that kids and adults will love! Made with crispy rice cereal, gooey marshmallows, and pastel colors, these treats are shaped into adorable Easter eggs—perfect for parties, gift baskets, or a festive Easter baking project. Decorate them with sprinkles, chocolate, or candy for a delicious and creative holiday treat!

Ingredients

For the Rice Krispie Treats:

  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 5 cups mini marshmallows
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (optional for extra flavor!)
  • Food coloring (pink, yellow, green, blue, pastel colors)
  • Cooking spray or butter (for greasing hands and molds)

For Decorating (Optional):

 

  • Sprinkles
  • Melted white or milk chocolate
  • Mini candies or icing designs

Instructions

1️⃣ Melt the Marshmallows & Butter

  • In a large pot, melt butter over low heat.
  • Add mini marshmallows, stirring until completely melted.
  • Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract (if using).

2️⃣ Add Food Coloring & Cereal

  • Divide the melted marshmallow mixture into separate bowls if making multiple colors.
  • Add a few drops of food coloring to each bowl and mix well.
  • Stir in Rice Krispies cereal, coating evenly.

3️⃣ Shape the Easter Eggs

  • Grease your hands with butter or cooking spray.
  • If using plastic Easter eggs, grease the inside and press cereal mixture inside to shape.
  • If shaping by hand, form egg shapes and place on parchment paper to cool.

4️⃣ Decorate the Easter Rice Krispies (Optional)

  • Drizzle with melted white or milk chocolate.
  • Add sprinkles, mini candies, or icing designs.
  • Let set for 15–20 minutes before serving.

5️⃣ Serve & Enjoy!

 

  • Place on a serving tray or package in gift bags for Easter treats!

Notes

  • Use fresh marshmallows for the softest, chewiest treats.
  • Grease your hands or molds to prevent sticking.
