Ingredients

For the Pasta:

  • 12 oz spaghetti (or any pasta of choice)
  • 4 cups water (for boiling)
  • 1 teaspoon salt

For the Creamy Garlic Sauce:

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Cook the Pasta:

    • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
    • Reserve ½ cup pasta water before draining.
  • Prepare the Creamy Garlic Sauce:

    • In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
    • Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly until fragrant.
    • Pour in the heavy cream and milk, then stir to combine.
    • Add Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Let the sauce simmer for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Incorporate the Cheese & Pasta:

    • Reduce the heat to low and gradually stir in the Parmesan cheese until melted.
    • If the sauce is too thick, add a bit of the reserved pasta water until it reaches your desired consistency.
    • Add the cooked pasta to the sauce, tossing gently to coat.

  • Garnish & Serve:

    • Sprinkle with chopped parsley and serve immediately with extra Parmesan cheese.

Notes

  • For extra richness, add a tablespoon of cream cheese to the sauce.
  • To lighten it up, use half-and-half instead of heavy cream.
  • Make it spicy! Add a pinch of red pepper flakes.

  • For a dairy-free version, swap butter for olive oil and use coconut milk.
