Description

This Crispy Flatbread with Brie is a savory-sweet gourmet appetizer combining creamy brie cheese, cranberry sauce, and honey on a crispy flatbread. Perfect for impressing guests at any occasion, it’s easy to make and full of flavor.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Flatbread:

  • 1 package of pre-made flatbread (or focaccia bread for a thicker base)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

For the Toppings:

  • 1 cup (about 4 oz) brie cheese, sliced (remove the rind if desired)
  • 1/4 cup cranberry sauce (homemade or store-bought)
  • 1 tablespoon honey (preferably hot honey for an extra kick)
  • Fresh rosemary, chopped (optional for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly oil it.
  2. Prepare the Flatbread: If using pre-made flatbread, place it on the prepared baking sheet. Brush a thin layer of olive oil across the top to help it crisp up nicely. Sprinkle a pinch of salt and pepper over the surface.
  3. Add the Toppings: Arrange the slices of brie evenly across the flatbread, leaving some space for the edges to crisp up. Spoon small dollops of cranberry sauce over the brie.
  4. Bake the Flatbread: Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy, with melted brie.
  5. Drizzle with Honey and Garnish: Remove the flatbread from the oven, drizzle with honey, and sprinkle fresh rosemary.
  6. Slice and Serve: Slice into squares or strips and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use high-quality brie: The creamy brie is the star, so choose a good quality cheese for the best flavor.
  • Don’t overbake: Watch the flatbread carefully to avoid burning it. You want it golden and crispy.
  • Try different toppings: Consider adding arugula, walnuts, or balsamic glaze for a different flavor profile.
  • Reheat with care: Reheat leftovers in a 350°F oven for 5–7 minutes to keep them crispy.
