Thick, chewy, and loaded with peanut butter chips, pretzels, and chocolate chunks, these Chubby Hubby Cookies are inspired by the iconic Ben & Jerry’s ice cream flavor. A rich, bakery-style cookie with the perfect blend of sweet and salty.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened

  • ¼ cup shortening

  • ¾ cup brown sugar

  • ¼ cup granulated sugar

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1¾ cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ⅓ cup malted milk powder

  • ¾ cup peanut butter chips

  • ¾ cup semi-sweet or dark chocolate chunks

  • 1 cup crushed pretzels

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  • In a large bowl, cream together butter, shortening, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

  • Add egg and vanilla, mixing until incorporated.

  • In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and malted milk powder.

  • Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture. Stir just until combined.

  • Fold in peanut butter chips, chocolate chunks, and crushed pretzels.

  • Scoop large dough balls onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them apart.

  • Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until edges are golden and centers just set.

  • Let cookies cool on the tray for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

Notes

  • Do not skip the malted milk powder—it adds flavor depth.

  • For best texture, store cookies with a slice of bread in the container.

  • Dough freezes well—scoop and freeze for up to 3 months.

  • To make mini cookies, reduce bake time by 2–3 minutes.
